In January of 2011, my baby was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Abigail was 19-months-old. No one expects for their baby to get cancer! Navigating the oncology world was a new and sometimes tricky business. The journey of treatment was rocky with a lot of opportunities for growth. One of the main areas I grew a lot in was that of nutrition.

During the prior ten years I had slowly changed the diet in my household to incorporate more whole foods and less processed food. But with a new diagnosis that challenged the life of my baby, I became ultra-strict on everything that Abigail ate. I read and studied and researched and asked questions to try to determine what foods she needed and didn't need. I often wished for a holistic pediatric nutritionist that knew about oncology needs. Being unable to find one near me, I adopted that role as best as I possibly could. If pressed for an answer, I would honestly say that I excelled in preparing Abigail's nutritional food. I knew food mattered in her fight with cancer and in her healing process, and because she meant the world to me, her food was a very high priority in my life.

I decided that once Abigail was healed, I would want to officially become what I had wanted so desperately to find: a holistic nutritionist that focused on individual needs. Abigail finished her mortal mission and found healing on July 15, 2013. I became a certified Nutrition Consultant in December 2017.

Haven't looked back.
